Attendance is Limited

A comprehensive course & a clinical step by step guide that touches the daily practice of every clinician performing dental implants service, a unique detailed clinical overview of related treatment complications with dental implant therapy that includes: poor diagnostic skills, regenerative complications, with emphasis on the potential risk factors that might escalate the failure rate, the various implant placement errors and the potential treatment complications that occurs along with immediate implant therapy in the aesthetic zone.. This course will focus on how to identify, avoid and treat potential treatment complications with dental implant therapy in a step by step protocol, and offers a new philosophy on bone grafting predictability on a long term follow up, also gives an insight on new treatment modalities to repair a defective labial plate of bone in immediate implant therapy.

Course Objectives:
• The Philosophy & management of implant related complications
• How to predict any treatment complication prior to occurrence
• The most predictable regenerative approach
• Why do regenerative materials fail?
• How to repair a defective labia plate f bone in immediate implant therapy

Clinical Update, Bone and Tissue Regeneration

Drs. Antonio J. Flichy & Hector J. Rodriguez
Fee: Gratis

Sponsored By: Sunstar – Silver Sponsor

Attendance is Limited

A predictable way to restore periodontal tissues lost through disease or trauma is Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR). The principle of GTR is to give preference to certain cells to repopulate the wound area to form a new attachment apparatus. The use of a specially designed physical barrier to exclude the growth of gingival tissues from the wound into the defect during early healing is an effective way to achieve this goal.

Applying similar biological principles, Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) treatment concept advocates that regeneration of osseous defects is predictably attainable via the application of occlusive membranes, which mechanically exclude non-osteogenic cell populations from the surrounding soft tissues, thereby allowing osteogenic cell populations originating from the parent bone to inhabit the osseous wound.

We will review the evolution of the regeneration biological rationale and therapeutic concept over the last two decades. The technology and the special design of GUIDOR bioresorbable matrix barrier allows its use for GTR Indications as an adjunct in periodontal surgical treatment to supplement the reparative process following scaling and root planning for: Class II furcation defects - Intrabony defects - Recession type defects.

When used for GBR Indications to aid in bone regeneration and augmentation in oral surgery for: Extraction socket ridge preservation - Immediate implant placement at time of extraction or delayed placement when additional bone regeneration is desired - Ridge augmentation - Sinus elevation - As a stable barrier for the containment of bone grafting materials such as GUIDOR calc-i-oss or GUIDOR easy-graft (alloplastic Bone Graft Materials).
